I published my first article about Emotional Integration in 2006, on a website whose name I no longer remember. It was a rudimentary draft of the method, built around two core ideas: freedom and responsibility.
You have the right to emancipate yourself and choose your own way. You are 100% free, and at the same time 100% responsible for every single choice that you make.
From maturity, self-respect, respect for others, and compassion, we can still choose to follow the law and respect social standards. This comes from understanding, not from obedience. It means seeing what your ego is trying to do with you, and taking responsibility for the choices that follow.
The ego is a beautiful thing. It is the part of you that understands, grows, and accomplishes. It is not the sum of evil. It is who you are, including the beautiful things inside of you: your skills, your love, and your care for others.
That was the core of the first article: the freedom to become yourself, with the responsibility to understand yourself and how you live with others.
